Personal profile
I design, build and ship websites and web apps with Next.js, React and TypeScript — one of them for a Niger Delta upstream production operations lead. Before that, six months of enterprise IT operations inside Nigeria's national oil and gas exploration company taught me to work inside written procedure and to decide from measurement rather than preference. Seeking a graduate programme in IT, digital or data operations within the energy sector.

Work experience
Freelance Web and App Developer
Self-employed · Benin City · Remote · – Present
Designing, building and deploying websites and web apps — for a client, for my own brand, and now an app of my own in development.
- Delivered a live career website for an upstream oil and gas production operations team lead, working from his record and brief rather than my own taste.
- Built and maintain this site in Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion, deploying automatically from GitHub to Vercel on every push.
- Currently building Trading Desks, an app for new traders with a built-in assistant bot.
- Write Python and Playwright scripts to automate repetitive browser and file-processing work.
IT Administration / Help Desk Intern (SIWES)
NNPC Exploration & Production Limited · Benin City · –
The full six-month mandatory industrial placement, in the IT administration function of Nigeria's national oil and gas exploration and production company. Certificate ref. NEPL/HCM/6157.
- Resolved first-line hardware, software, printing and network faults for office staff, escalating where a fix sat outside my remit.
- Prepared, configured and deployed staff workstations, and administered user accounts against the company's documented access procedure.
- Worked inside an established enterprise change and access procedure in a regulated operating environment, confirming why a control existed before proposing any change to it.
- Explained fixes to non-technical colleagues in their own terms — the part of the job that decided whether a fix actually held.

A career site for an upstream oil and gas operations lead
A live portfolio site for a Niger Delta production operations team lead whose career runs from 1991 — his career record, his certifications, his field photography. The first thing I have built where none of the content was mine and none of the decisions were about what I would have preferred.
The brief. Present a thirty-year upstream operations career to the people who hire for those roles: a career timeline, scanned certifications, field photography and contact details. It had to look credible to an industry that does not reward decoration, and it had to keep working without maintenance.
- No framework and no build step. Three files plus images — semantic HTML, CSS custom properties and about fifteen lines of vanilla JavaScript for scroll reveals — so it deploys unchanged in ten years instead of rotting behind a dependency tree.
- The palette is taken from the subject rather than from a template: process-vessel teal, safety amber and petroleum navy on warm ivory. A grotesque for headings, a serif for body, a monospace for figures, so the statistics band reads like a control-room panel.
- Every colour is painted explicitly rather than inherited, so the page holds its own ground in any embedding context.
- Accessibility decided at the start: all text pairs clear WCAG AA and most clear AAA, focus states are visible, prefers-reduced-motion is honoured, every image carries descriptive alt text, and there is no horizontal overflow down to 390px.
Outcome. Live on Vercel, static, redeploying on every push. Content and photographs published with his permission.

Built, rebuilt, and redesigned in public
My own portfolio, now on its fourth version. Each rewrite happened because the goal moved rather than because the code broke, and I can account for every decision still in it.
The brief. Answer, for a graduate-scheme recruiter and a developer at the same time, whether I can analyse a problem, learn from feedback, work with people and deliver a result — with specific evidence rather than adjectives.
- Started in plain HTML and CSS, then moved to Next.js and TypeScript partway through, when hand-written state and duplicated markup began costing more than they saved. Stopping to change stack was cheaper than finishing something I would have to redo.
- Every fact on the site lives in one content module that both the homepage and the CV page read from, so the two can physically never disagree with each other.
- Redesigned in the manner of an Apple product page: the system font, a frosted navigation bar, light and dark themes that follow the visitor's device, and two accent colours with a strict division of labour — blue is identity, green is numbers only.
- Every animation collapses under prefers-reduced-motion, the command palette only duplicates routes that already exist as ordinary links, and each disclosure is a real button inside a heading rather than a div with a click handler.
Outcome. Deployed on Vercel with automatic deployment from the main branch. Source public.

An app for new traders, with a bot that helps them along
An app built for people who are new to trading, with a built-in bot that aids users as they find their way. It is in active development, so the detail stays private until launch.
The brief. Give new traders a place to start that does not assume they already know what they are doing.
Outcome. In development. More to show at launch.

Stick-figure explainers about how ancient humans lived
A YouTube channel of illustrated stick-figure stories about early human life — what people did when someone died, what happened when they grew old. I write every script, produce the voiceover and visuals with AI tools, and decide what to make next from the numbers.
The brief. Tell a seven-to-eight-minute story about the deep past that holds attention from the first line, in one consistent visual style, without wasting paid generation credits.
- Scripts are written to a measured runtime, with voice direction written into the script itself so the generated narration reads like a person rather than a machine.
- Visuals are stills in a single stick-figure style, cut at a quick pace, rather than spending credits on video generation.
- Every script is checked against its sources before anything is generated, because a mistake found after generation costs credits to fix.
Outcome. Three videos published and 1,573 views as of October 2026 (vidIQ).
